Official Biography

Tiberius Fel is one of the most famous–or perhaps infamous –officers of the post-Thrawn Empire. His years of service have taken him from humble beginnings in the unknown regions all the way to the Supreme Commander’s post. Fel was among the youngest officers of the Empire to attain flag rank, due partly to the shortage of officers in modern times. Subtlety has never been his strong suit, and he almost always favours the direct, head-on approach to problems.

Fel’s family arrived in Canada a generation before his birth, having left the Slavia system that had been their ancestral home for millenia. Though they took their knowledge of the Slavic language with them, it was not much in favour on the basic-speaking world of Canada, and Fel knows only the very basics. He is fluent, however in Basic and the second language of Canada. One element he retains is that his full birth name is properly "Tiberius Sergei’evich Felski", but as a young adult, he elected to change his name to make it more "basic-like".

Some detail is known of Fel’s life before his entry into Imperial service. He graduated at the very top of his class, easily making his entry into Canada’s burgeoning naval fleet. His scores in the primitive simulators were above average, but testing showed his true aptitude lay in command. However, his young age meant he had to serve aboard the local atmospheric craft for a period of time before he could enter into the naval program.

Soon after the opportunity became available, he jumped at the chance to take a Canadian Destroyer, the HMCS Entropy, out on a patrol mission. As the Entropy passed by the larger of Canada’s moons, the Rebel Alliance entered the system. A Dreadnaught, two shuttles, and a squadron of Y-Wings had hypered into the system right on top of the Entropy.

The Rebels, on the run, demanded the immediate surrender of the Entropy so that it could be used against the incoming Imperial force. The Entropy’s captain steadfastly refused; he insisted that Canada did not wish to become involved with the Rebel Alliance. The Rebels opened fire.

Fel was serving on the bridge as weapons officer and navigator, and personally downed several fighters with weapons on manual control.

The Entropy, however, was ill-suited to taking sustained fire from the more powerful and advanced stolen shuttles, and it is only because the helm officer could keep the ship out of the Dreadnaught’s firing range that they survived at all.

As expected, and Imperial Task Force appeared on the scene only a few minutes after the Rebels. The Imperial Star Destroyer, one Victory Star Destroyer, and collection of smaller ships were more than a match for the puny Rebel force at hand. The Entropy survived, though badly damaged.

Unfortunately, during the struggle, most of the senior officers were killed or wounded. Taking command of the situation, Fel contacted the captain of the Star Destroyer and recounted the tale, unflinchingly.

Impressed by the defiance and skill of the Canadian officers, the Star Destroyer’s Flag Officer, a certain Grand Admiral Daemon, offered Fel, and select other command staff from the Entropy, each a position in the Empire based on their skills. The other officers declined, but Fel, impressed by the Empire, accepted. Fel became the first, though not the last, Canadian to enter into the Imperial Navy.

Fel spent barely any time in the Academy before he received promotion to Ensign and placement aboard the Victory Class Star Destroyer Stalwart in Lamed Squadron–a TIE/ln squadron commonly assigned to escort roles. Ensign Fel served in this capacity for quite a while, before being promoted to Sub-Lieutenant and becoming executive officer of Lamed Squadron.

It was here that Fel earned the nickname of "Kamikaze", as he became well-known for suicide runs on other fighters when flying in the simulator. The nickname of Kamikaze was thereby earned, and has since stuck, even after years away from being a pilot.

Some time thereafter, the Stalwart was decomissioned, and all officers aboard were transferred aboard the recently refitted Imperial-Class Star Destroyer Nemesis. Before long, however, Fel was departing for the VSD Dominance, as a newly-promoted Lieutenant. His new command, Sin Squadron, was a TIE Inteceptor Squadron, freshly delivered from Sienar Fleet Systems.

Squadron command was not something that Fel enjoyed tremendously, but he did his duty. He jumped at the opportunity to take a ship command staff position -- which so happened to be back aboard the ISD Nemesis. His promotion went through and he assumed the rank of Commander, taking the position of first officer.

Fel spent a good deal of time as the first officer of the Nemesis. It was during this time that the Empire’s internal troubles were causing a strong rift amidst its officers. The crew of the VSD Striker, as well as others, collectively left. Several other officers resigned amidst the mess, including the captain of the Nemesis, and Fel was promoted again, this time to Captain.

As Fel took command of the ISD Nemesis, the fleet was in poor shape. A good many officers had departed, and the situation did not look good. Fel was left in the position of acting as the Imperial Navy Fleet Commander, and performed some of those duties alongside his own, until the return of Admiral Polanski.

A large part of Fel’s career before attaining flag rank was spent in command of the Nemesis, and it was always something that he had enjoyed. He ran a tight ship and continually ensured that his officers were performing up to standard... or they found themselves serving somewhere else. Ship command proved to be something Fel loved.

Over time the fleet improved its condition, slowly but surely. As chronicled in the GE history, Grand Admiral Daemon disappeared completely... and Polanski ascended to the role of Supreme Commander. At this time Fel was promoted to Rear Admiral and officially took the reigns of the Navy as its Division Commander.

As the Fleet Commander, Fel’s responsibilities were numerous. The Division Commanders were granted more authority by Fleet Admiral Polanski, and Fel’s opinion was often loud and strong in the High Command meetings. He oversaw every facet of the Navy, inluding rosters, medal awards, and division reports. Throughout the Navy, his word was law, and he did his best to keep in contact with every level of command and supervise things personally, where possible.

It was when he was a Rear Admiral that one of the most significant events in his life occurred. He had just returned to his office after a double shift on the bridge, and could immediately tell something was amiss. In his room he found a striking young woman dressed in black. Her uniform had all the hallmarks of Imperial Intelligence.

Ostensibly there to investigate Calder, agent Starlit was really there to investigate Fel. Night after night, they would work away; though Fel was learning nothing of relevance about Calder, or anybody Calder had ever met, Starlit was learning all she needed to know about Fel, and perhaps more importantly, gaining his trust.

Agent Starlit had quickly vindicated Fel from any wrong-doing, but she had stayed aboard the Nemesis under another premise. Her assignment to investigate him had slowly developed to be secondary to their deep trust.

A few months later, Fel and Starlit happily walked down the aisle as husband and wife in a lavish ceremony aboard Fel’s flagship, the ISD Nemesis. They were officially married by Fleet Admiral Polanski, with Vortagh serving as Fel’s best man and one of Starlit’s childhood friends, another suspected agent, as the maid of honour. The wedding ceremony was followed by a long and enjoyable reception with the commanding officers of the Empire that lasted well into the night.

Fel was promoted to Vice Admiral upon his return from a short honeymoon with his bride, and continued in his role of Imperial Navy Fleet Commander.

During his time as Fleet Commander, the Empire entered into the Outer Sectors Campaign, and Admiral Fel put in many long hours to see through the execution of the campaign. Through the campaign, he was promoted to the rank of full Admiral–a rare honour never before afforded to any Fleet Commander in the post-Thrawn Empire. At the conclusion of the momentous campaign, Admiral Fel was awarded the Order of the Empire in recognition of his leadership and victory in that grand test for the Empire...

Following the campaign, signups for the Imperial Navy began to climb to heights not seen in a long time, and Admiral Fel turned his attention to administration of the Navy and the Empire in general.

Agent Starlit remained an officer of Imperial Intelligence, but was killed in an intelligence operation gone wrong. Though no evidence has ever been seen, it is rumoured that she had betrayed Fel and the Empire, and this was Imperial Intelligence’s idea of justice...

Some months after the Outer Sectors Campaign, Fleet Admiral Polanski elected to step down from the rank of Fleet Admiral and assume a position in Imperial Research. As such, he promoted Admiral Fel to the rank of Fleet Admiral, and conferred upon him the duties and responsibilities of the Supreme Commander.

Since that time, the new Fleet Admiral Fel has sworn to rebuild the Empire and return peace and order to the war-torn galaxy...
